At the annual celebration, a Customer Service Excellence Person of the Year is selected from the Five Star Award winners of that year. That person receives special prizes and podium recognition at the luncheon.
The 2019 Person of the Year was Adriana Perez Suncoast Hotel and Casino.

“Adriana Perez is a cashier/host in the Buffet at the Suncoast. We have a regular couple that comes to eat in the buffet at least 3 times a week. They were sitting in front of the dessert station. The wife went to get her food and the husband sat waiting for his wife to come back with the food. She returned and found her husband unresponsive. Security was called and the EMT’s as well. Adriana stood with the wife while they worked on her husband. After Adriana’s shift ended she went to Summerlin hospital to stay with the wife. The wife did not speak any English and she was Cuban and Adriana is Cuban also. Adriana translated for the wife so she understood everything the Doctors were telling her. She stayed with the wife until the family drove in from LA to be with there mom. Adriana made sure the wife had someone with her so she would not be alone.
Adriana went well beyond her job description and showed compassion and empathy for a couple that comes to eat in the Buffet. We make the guest in the Buffet feel like family and that’s why they keep coming back day after day.
