The Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority hosted the annual Customer Service Excellence Celebration – a culmination of a full year’s worth of amazing recipients and it was their time to shine! The 2019 CSE Person of the Year award recipient is Adriana Perez of Suncoast Casino. Perez received this prestigious award after we received a letter from her supervisor detailing a unique event that took place during Adriana’s shift earlier this year. Click here to learn more!
Preview Las Vegas took place on Friday, Jan. 17 at the Wynn Las Vegas and brought over 1,400 attendees who were eager to hear about the upcoming economic trends in Las Vegas, new changes in transportation and how Las Vegas officially became a sports city. Experts explained that Las Vegas as a city is actively peaking in terms of economic success on both a regional and national level. The event kicked off with President and CEO of the Vegas Chamber, Mary Beth Sewald, joining the Vegas Golden Knights Drum Line before giving opening remarks. Jeremy Aguero of Applied Analysis vivaciously explained that Las Vegas is economically in a good place going into 2020. President of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitor’s Authority Steve Hill announced to Nevada businesses that LVCVA will be changing their slogan, which will debut at The Grammys. Tina Quigley of Virgin Trains updated the crowd about the upcoming train that will connect Las Vegas with Victorville, CA. The event was capped with a “fireside” talk with National Football League Commissioner, Roger Goodell. Commissioner Goodell explained that Las Vegas will be a successful football city due to the support from the State of Nevada as well as Nevada businesses. He believes that there is potential for what Las Vegas can host for the NFL, starting with the NFL Draft in April 2020. Nearly 600 of Nevada's leaders, policy makers, community stakeholders and business leaders gathered at the Palms Casino Resort to induct the Vegas Chamber 2020 Board of Trustees and hear from 2020 Chairman of the Board, Tom Burns, president of Cragin & Pike.
The Las Vegas Chamber is proud to produce the annual Business Excellence Awards (BEA), exclusively sponsored by Nevada State Bank. Each year, hundreds of business community members come together to celebrate these special businesses. This year, the Chamber and Nevada State Bank provided an Emmy Awards-style show where all nominees were recognized, finalists were honored, and one winner in each category was revealed at the annual BEA event in October. This Focus Las Vegas event explored the results of the 2019 Legislature and how they applied to businesses and education in Southern Nevada. Chamber and community leaders shared the impacts of passed legislation, as well as the progress made on issues important to our region.

The Executive Women’s Council is a network of female leaders with the skills, insight, and passion to enhance Southern Nevada’s business community. Its mission is to inspire women to positively influence the region’s business, government and non-profit sectors while elevating their careers through training, mentoring and relationship-building. The first quarterly luncheon, “Women in Media,” included a power panel comprised of media professionals and will be moderated by Las Vegas Chamber President and CEO Mary Beth Sewald. The panelists included Lisa Howfield - KLAS 8 News Now, Vice President and General Manager, Sherry Swensk - KLAS 8 News Now, Weather Anchor, Carri Geer Thevenot -Las Vegas Review-Journal, Metro Editor, and Natalia Hernandez - Entercom Radio, PSA Director.
