The Business of the Year Awards exemplify the tremendous spirit and capabilities of our business community. The businesses and individuals honored today are diverse, bold, and innovative – just like Vegas itself. Finalists and winners are chosen by the Vegas Chamber’s Business of the Year Awards Selection Committee. The awards program was presented by Shannon Peterson, Executive Vice President of Corporate Banking for Nevada State Bank. A big congratulations to the winners, and all the deserving finalists.

Terry Shirey

President and Chief Executive Officer
Terry A. Shirey serves as President and Chief Executive Officer for Nevada State Bank, a division of ZB, N.A. and Executive Vice President of Zions Bancorporation. Named President and CEO in January 2017, Shirey formerly served as Chief Financial Officer for six years before being named President and COO in September 2014. Shirey oversees all five banking lines of business – retail, real estate, small business, commercial, and private banking – as well as all bank operations in Nevada. Shirey holds a certified public accountant (CPA) certificate. He has more than 22 years of experience in the financial industry, with the past 14 spent managing finance and operations for major banks and bank holding companies. Shirey holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wyoming. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce, as Vice-Chair of the College of Southern Nevada Foundation and is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization.

Dr. Renee Coffman is President and Co-Founder of Roseman University of Health Sciences, a Henderson-based private, not-for-profit university, focused on educating and training healthcare professionals. The University offers BS-Nursing, MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Doctor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Dental Medicine degrees, and an Orthodontics Residency Certificate. The University is currently in the planning stages to launch a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at its Summerlin campus.

Lori Calderon is the Executive Director of Talent Acquisition & Community Engagement at Resorts World Las Vegas, where she oversees the property’s recruitment efforts. Additionally, Lori works to identify and facilitate relationships with community partners in support of the resort’s corporate social responsibility (CSR), volunteerism and philanthropic efforts. Lori has more than 27 years of valuable recruitment expertise in Las Vegas, having previously managed employment procedures for MGM Resorts International, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and more.

Andrea Woods is Director of Community Relations and Finance with GO B.E.S.T. (Big Entertainment Solutions Technology – www.gobestbiz.com). In her role, she is building relations within the community that can benefit from the services offered by the organization, as well as connecting the organization with non-profits in need of assistance. Woods has also assisted in the development and implementation of policies and procedures focused on eliminating corporate theft. She has a strong passion in the area of education for at risk youth. As industries evolve, Andrea looks for opportunities to “be at the table” as a benefactor for self and community. Every day she is working on her dash and paying it forward!
